Professional: Layne Kasischke has 20 years of experience as a Physical Education teacher. Locally, Layne was part of the founding team who started Veritas Christian Academy. She built the athletic department, while also serving as the school’s Athletic Director and PE Teacher. Over the course of her career, she also coached several sports. She retired in 2018.
Community/Volunteer Work: Layne has a passion for working with children, and in her church and community, and has always sought to lend a hand to help make a difference. While raising her children, Layne was a PTO President, led the Athletic Booster Club, served as a substitute teacher, and more. In her church, she organized Vacation Bible Schools and taught various Bible studies. In the community she has served in various capacities with the Hendersonville Symphony, Habitat for Humanity, and the Boys & Girls Club (she got her introduction through the Feed the Kids program). After attending several Club events, she knew she wanted to join the efforts of the community and join the team as a board member.
Personal: Born in Michigan, Layne and her husband Tom have made Hendersonville their home for over 30 years. They raised their two children, Brett (35) and Candice (33), and now enjoy spoiling their grandchildren, two locally and two in Washington, D.C. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, and loves hiking, water aerobics, golf and pickleball. She also enjoys spending time at ShareWell Coffee Co. & Roastery, her daughter and son-in-law’s business.
