Retired from Henderson County Public Schools where she was the Assistant Superintendent for Instructional Services, Jan is a lifelong educator who was recognized in 2010 as the Wells Fargo North Carolina Principal of the Year. More recently, Jan was awarded the 2021 Frances Jones Trailblazer Award by the NC Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD). She now owns and operates NC Peak Education, bringing together a cadre of retired educators to support schools across the state.
Jan teaches youth Sunday School at Mills River United Methodist Church, where she serves as ViceChair of Church Council and serves on several committees. In addition to the Club, Jan is active on the board at Bullington Gardens. She enjoys thrifting, traveling, conversation by a fire pit, and swimming with her grandkids at “GranJan’s Pool.”
